The Works of Abraham Booth Vol. 3

The Works of Abraham Booth Vol. 3

Title: The Works of Abraham Booth Volume 3

Author: Abraham Booth (1734-1806)

Original Publish Date: 1813

The miscellaneous writings of historical figures pull back the curtain on the subjects that captured their interest. Here in volume 3 of the Works of Abraham Booth, we find an assortment of theological tracts, sermons, and essays, all of which reveal Booth to be a man devoted to Christ and his church.

One of the most enduring works of Booth's corpus is his essay on the Commerce in the Human Species (1792) in which he confronted the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade. But just as he sought to bring God's Word to bear on global atrocities, he never neglected the small, personal things at home. Thus, we find the funeral sermons he preached for deceased friends and church members, along with sage counsel for those preparing for pastoral ministry.

With the other selections that make up this third volume, Particular Baptist Heritage Books is pleased to commend the writings of Abraham Booth as a model for ministry. We trust the reader will find them rich with devotional insight, theological sophistication, and pastoral sensitivity.
